ATSCO Products Offers Professional Janitorial Technician Training-Creating Qualified Workers for Entry Level Janitorial Positions
The course completed by 30 students of Hope House and Trinity Alliance was held and sponsored by ATSCO Products in Albany, NY, and offered both hands on and classroom training in 6-2hr sessions.

ATSCO provides training seminars leading to nationally recognized certifications. This course is an attempt to reach people looking to enter the cleaning industry at the entry level.

The Professional Janitorial Technician Certification program attempts to marry the needs of the Cleaning Industry Companies who are always looking for qualified people to fill entry level positions, and a segment of the population who are looking for employment and are eager to begin in entry level jobs. "We hear from our contractors all too often that it is hard to find good, knowledgeable workers for the cleaning and maintenance of buildings," McGrath said. This program consisted of 6 two hour sessions covering such topics as Safety and Responsibility, OSHA Right to Know, Blood Borne Pathogens, MSDS and Slip Fall Prevention, Care of Resilient Floors, Carpet and Upholstery Care, General Styles and Techniques of Commercial Cleaning, Green Cleaning, and Hospital and Medical Facility disinfection and cleaning. By completing the course, students have demonstrated the ability to become a well qualified Professional Cleaning Technician.
