Valerie Ward co-developed a novel system of employability assessment
GIBSONS, BC, CANADA, June 16, 2011 /Employment - Careers PR News/ -- Valerie G. Ward, President and CEO of Valerie G. Ward Consulting Ltd., has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in career development.
In response to a request for proposals from the Canadian federal government, Ms. Ward became the co-developer of an internationally validated Model of Employment Readiness as well as a valid and reliable online tool, the Employment Readiness Scale (ERS), to measure that model and provide before-and-after measures of client employment readiness. The ERS is the only known standardized measure of employment readiness and is available in three languages (English, French, and Spanish) in Canadian, United States and Australian versions.
Ms. Ward received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The University of British Columbia, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and Psychology from Acadia University. She is a member of the BC Career Development Association and the International Association for Educational and Vocational Guidance, as well as the Pacific Northwest Writers Association.
Ms. Ward is responsible for presenting information about the ERS to organizations, educating them in use of the tool, and promoting innovative applications of the ERS for client assessment, program evaluation, program planning, and accountability reporting. Her company, Valerie G. Ward Consulting Ltd., licenses and supports organizations in the use of the ERS, as well as provides career development consulting services. The ERS helps clients identify their strengths and challenges in becoming employment ready, measures their changes over time, and provides organizations with roll-up reports across clients for use in program planning and evaluation.
